Aeron: November 2008 Archives

Wow, can't believe it's already time to leave for Texas.  From east coast to west coast -- now we are heading to the middle for San Antonio!  The blur continues.

We had a good time in New York.  This time the weather was definitely noticeable -- much colder than what we get in coastal CA.  I'm the first to admit, I'm a cold weather whimp.  And was glad to be back in California to experience some 80 degree days this past week.

I must be getting older.  NY was tiring.  We had about a 2 mi walk from our hotel to/from the convention center, then standing all day in the diva booth took a toll on my body.  I only got in one run while I was in the city, it was great... early, dark morning running through Times Square to Central Park and back via 5th Ave, much different than anything I'll ever run in California.  The real standout this year was the street cops.  They have the tough job.  They stand in the middle of the roads -- crazy taxi drivers, waste haulers, buses, you name it, and they have everything headed for them, accelerating past just inches away.  The cops just stand there -- blown their whistles and yelling at the lame drivers who just can't seem to make it through the intersection fast enough.  VERY direct communicators!  Love that part, actually, Marc thinks he missed his calling and should have been a NYC street cop -- I can see it.

We were fortunate to meet many of the ladies who are running for a club that running divas sponsors.  Couldn't talk much since we were busy working with customers at the booth, but enjoyed meeting a lot of gals that work out together and race in running divas new york jerseys!

They did a great job in the marathon -- two gals finished under 3 hours and ten ran faster than 3:30.  In total we had 15 RDNY complete the NYRDNY_katarina.jpgC marathon!  Check out our number one gal... Katarina Janosikova, she's 28.  This was her first marathon and she did it in 2:42.  Not bad Kat!  Looking forward to more racing.  And what about jumping on the track for some 10k races this spring?  Now she doesn't make 41 degrees look too cold -- I guess it's all a matter of perspective, and if I pick up the pace I won't be worrying about the weather.  I'm working on a section of our website where you can learn more about this running divas sponsored team, and any other teams we hook up with in the future.

I find it so interesting to meet all these runners from around the world.  I wonder where running divas can go with the network resources to bring more ladies together in the name of fun, friends and going for it -- how fast can you really go?

Well that's all for this evening.  I'm nearly done packing.  Need to relax and mentally prepare for another time change.  This travel thing is really over-rated.  I am looking forward to Texas -- last I looked the temp was in the 70 - 80s -- yeah!  Talk w/ you soon.

Hope your miles are treating you kindly and you're logging them regularly.  Don't forget that speed play and the importance of looking good -- good form that is!  aero out
